Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce New Logo

Thank you to Smies Design, Belgium Area Chamber Board & Members, Village of Belgium, and the Belgium Tourism Committee for your assistance in the creation of new logos for the Chamber and Village of Belgium. We have been excited to work together as a community to create logos that are consistent and help tell Belgium’s story.

In creating these logos, we reflected on recent branding exercises, where we determined that Belgium exudes values such as approachability, comfort, optimism, compassion, charm, and integrity. Faith, family, recreation and heritage are also important to our community. We considered Belgium’s strengths and core tourism assets, such as our friendly residents, rich ethnic heritage (the Village of Belgium was settled by families from Luxembourg), Harrington Beach State Park, the Ozaukee Interurban Bike Trail, Luxembourg Fest, the Luxembourg American Cultural Society, Memories Dinner Theatre, and our proximity to Lake Michigan.

The colors of the Luxembourg Flag (red, white, and light blue) were an easy choice for the colors you will now see reflected in both logos as well as the new websites ( and this one!) The Chamber logo reflects the chamber’s mission to promote the economic and social development of Belgium through the images of an industrial gear, businesses and a home (representing community). The trees are reminiscent of the “Luxembourg American Family Tree” sculpture that wows visitors as they enter the Luxembourg American Cultural Center. They also indicate our outdoor recreational assets through the Interurban Trail and Harrington Beach State Park. The fluid “swoosh” at the bottom hints toward the proximity to Lake Michigan, Belgium's recreational assets, the colors of the Luxembourg Flag and the progressive nature of the Chamber of Commerce in moving our area’s economic development forward.

The Village logo features a similar home illustration, the same tree, and adds in a bike to indicate recreation and Belgium's home on the Interurban Trail. The colors of the Luxembourg Flag sail high over the word Belgium.

We are pleased to be presenting these logos and new websites and look forward to continuing to move Belgium and the surrounding area forward in a united fashion, celebrating all the opportunities and assets our area affords. #newlogo, #belgiumwi #Buildingourfuture
